Dr. Lesley Joseph Associate Minister

Dr. Lesley Joseph was born in Rock Hill, SC. He came to know Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at age 30.  He currently serves as an Associate Minister at Temple Zion Baptist Church and is a board member of North Monticello Community Outreach (NMCO) . Dr. Joseph also serves as the Co-Director (alongside his wife, Jonita Joseph) of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) at Benedict College.

He is a licensed professional engineer (PE) and has earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering at the University of South Carolina, along with a Master's in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Joseph has worked for 10 years in construction, design engineering, and project management for various consulting firms throughout the country. He is also the Professor of the Practice in the Environmental Engineering program at Benedict College.

However, in 2015, Dr. Joseph received the unmistakable call to the ministry and began to prepare himself for service. Dr. Joseph received his license to preach in August 2022 and is continuing his training toward ordination under Dr. Melvin. Under Dr. Melvin's tutelage, Dr. Joseph plans to use all of his professional, academic, and ministerial gifts to the glory of God and for the good of the church.

Dr. Joseph is married to Jonita Joseph, and God has blessed them with four amazing children: Jael Renee Joseph, Hadassah Marie Joseph, Selah Grace Joseph, and Josiah Samuel Joseph.

Dr. Joseph seeks to live and serve according to his life verse: "...and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8).
