Dr. Karen Grant was born in Palo Alto, California, south of San Fransisco. Dr. Grant came to know Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at age 20.  She is currently the College Ministry Director at Temple Zion Baptist Church and serves on the ministerial team.

She earned a Bachelors degree in Recreational Administration and a Master's degree in Education and Counseling from two California State Universities.

 

Dr. Grant worked for 12 years as the Director of Student Activities at California State University, Stanislaus.

While volunteering in a large local church youth ministry in Modesto California, God called Dr. Grant to full-time service, ministering to youth. 

 

In 1994, she accepted a Youth Ministry position at First Evangelical Free Church in Rockford, Illinois where she served for seven years. Feeling the need for more biblical training.

She embarked on a journey to completing a Master's in Ministry degree from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

 

In 2001, Dr. Grant was offered a teaching position in the Youth Ministry at Columbia International University where she still serves; training and equipping students to reach this generation for Jesus Christ.

 

In 2009, she completed her Doctor in Ministry degree from CIU

Dr. Grant currently serves on the Board of Directors at Bethel Christian Camp and is in her fourth year serving as Youth Director here at Temple Zion.
